Nurture

I have a little plant
That’s growing on my window sill,
It started as a seed
And didn’t look that much until
I put it in a plant pot,
And I covered it in earth,
And I gave it lots of water
Then in a few weeks came the birth
Of a tiny little seedling
That was not much to behold
But each day it’s getting stronger
And each week more leaves unfold.
My plant is like a friend now
And I love to watch it grow,
And I know that if I cherish it,
In its leaves, my love will show.
