So Tired

She was the kind of tired
Only a five year old knows,
Where you’re tired from your ears,
To the tips of your toes.

She was so tired
That her eyes kept fluttering shut
In mid-sentence;
The sentence was ‘Bedtime? No… But…’

She was so tired
Sleep was stealing her quickly away,
So she could dream all about
Her wonderful day.

She was so tired
She was sleeping in no time at all,
And soon would come morning,
And she’d repeat it all.
