Thanks so much,Tricia. I believe I wrote post of the history…starting over, dirt broke, so missmatch of china seemed like a novel idea. I wanted some “pretty” in my life so why not one of each and in some cases when I had company…2 of each:)

Love this poem, Christine. And I remember the photo. I posted my photo separately on my blog as well as part of the poem because it was the only way I could get it to show here. Where there’s a will there’s a way. Don’t know why my photos won’t show on the link, they’re on my blog post, and even on my Facebook link. Ah, the mysteries/frustrations of computers.

That’s strange Tricia – are you setting them as featured images? I was doing that via my iPhone and finding they showed as thumbnails on facebook and twitter but didn’t appear in the body of the text. For that to happen I had to upload them directly into the body of the text…

I dont know where my photo has gone! Im not very good at links but I did all I thought I should do but the photo doesnt show! It is of a butterfly on a flower; I took it last summer and it has been the screensaver on my iPad ever since. Have no idea how to get it here now! xx

This poem draws mind pictures for me; the rain outside as you work away in your office until the girls come to rescue you from your labours. I feel like I’m sitting off to the side, quietly watching. Love it. xx

I wish you were near enough to come and join me in my garden office. I imagine us working in a silent companionable way with occasional guffaws. It’s my little sanctuary (and will become more so as I renovate the garden around it) the sound of the rain on the roof soothes me and I have a big tree and bird feeder outside which has become a regular haunt for birds of all sizes and a friendly squirrel.

Beautiful, this makes me miss the sea a lot. I grew up by it and miss it almost every day that I’m away (though in the UK you’re never that far from the sea, not compared to how far you might be in Aus at least I guess…)

It felt inappropriate to ask you this on your page after such a gut wrenching poem. But I must ask about the squeaky sand! It really squeaks? I’m so intrigued!

It really does squeak, Pooky. The first time you experience it it’s rather gobsmacking, and then it becomes a playful, giggle filled experience. I love to watch children as they experience it for the first time.
