It looked like silver,
But wasn’t,
That large silver spoon,
And it glinted,
Whilst lying
In the light of the moon.
It pretended to be something
It could never be,
And the lies that it told
Were transparent to me;
But to others,
Its lies
Were a secret
Well kept,
They believed it was silver,
And so the truth slept.
And we all sleep walked on,
Amidst white lies,
So black,
Well in fact,
Kind of silver,
And shiny,
In tact…
