Your Hand in Mine

I will hold your hand
Until there’s no more time,
Your hand in mine,
Two lives entwined.
We’re comforted both,
By this holding of hands,
We’ve only few words,
But we both understand.
You worry,
But I will look after you now,
Help ease your pain,
Kiss your frail brow.
It was my hand in yours,
Now it’s your hand in mine,
Until there’s no time,
Fingers always entwined.

[for my Grandpa]
