Spring Rain

Big rain, loud laughter
As wellingtons squelch and squerch.
Small people, big smiles.

  1. I love your poem. I agree that there’s something refreshing and energising about the rain. Running in a downpour is a liberating experience. Since completing a half a marathon in torrential rain and various charity runs in rainy conditions, I can now appreciate the way that children enjoy squelching in their wellington boots and jumping into puddles, I’m often tempted to do the same thing myself!
