Shepherder Of Woes

When you cry, it breaks me;
It tears me up inside.
Your tears feel like my tears,
I feel like I’m the one who cries.

But I’m your Mum,
And must stay strong,
A shepherder of woes.
I dab your tears
And stroke your hair,
And hold you nice and close.

I wish that I could take your pain,
Or make it disappear,
I can’t, but I will guide you through,
Hold tight, my love, Mum’s here.

    These sentiments apply even when they are not near enough to hold. You are always mum, a job I’m proud of!
