Lost
In familiar places,
Became the story of his life.
Lonely
Amongst familiar faces,
He didn’t even know his wife.
Confused
And sad
And hurt
And aching,
He continued
Unsure of ways to ease his pain.
And so,
Confused
And lost
And hurt
And lonely,
He woke and went to bed again.

Daily poem #835
A poem that perfectly describes the plight of Alzheimer’s victims. My much loved and loving sister in law and friend suffered from Alzheimers and since she died last year she has been sadly missed. A lovely poem.

It is a dreadful, dreadful disease. Let’s hope they can find a way to lessen it’s effects
