Voices of Many

A thousand voices told him what to do.
They were wrong,
He knew.
But it’s hard to ignore the advice of hundreds
Repeated with each moment,
Softly,
Loudly,
Quickly,
Slowly,
The same mantra
With his destruction at its heart.
He tried to argue.
But he had just one voice.
He spoke loudly,
But still found himself drowned out
By the voices of many.
And with each shout,
Grew his self-doubt.
