The Resilient Spider

The spider worked tirelessly
Building his home;
He worked fast,
He worked hard,
He was tired.
His web was perfection!
But soon
His strong
And perfect home
Was ruined
By forces more powerful than himself.
He sat for a moment,
Dejected,
Contemplating the devastation,
And his wasted time
And energy.
As he observed the ruins
Of his would-be-home,
He came to realise
He could repair it;
He could remake it,
And his new home
Would be better,
Stronger,
And more beautiful
Than before,
For he had lived
And he had learned.
The task was daunting,
But exciting.
And so
He picked himself up
And began.
