Stride Forth

Her future unfurled
In the palm of her hands,
She could choose to stride forth
Or to stop and to stand.
If she chose to go on
She had choices to make,
But to choose to stop still
Felt a heavy mistake.
As she weighed up her future
Left hand versus right,
For the first time it felt
Like an end was in sight.
On the distant horizon
Lay her future, complete,
Now she must stride towards it
On uncertain feet.
