Open Door

Surrounded by people
But feeling alone,
She knew that she couldn’t
Face things on her own
But she didn’t know how
To reach out for support.
She was held back by fear
Of the things people thought.
So she just didn’t ask
And she battled alone,
You can do this!
You’re strong!
Came the texts on her phone.
But she didn’t feel strong
And she wasn’t so sure
She could manage
Her demons alone anymore.
So she took a deep breath
And she opened the door
And said can you help me?
I can do this no more.
So what happens next?
Well I don’t know for sure,
But we’ll see if things change
Now I’ve opened the door.

  2. There’s no more lonely place than in a crowd, its true, Reaching out for help to a well known friend when in need not only helps you but also the other person who is only too happy to be of assistance and is just waiting for your request.

That is such a beautiful way of thinking about it – and I believe you too – there are few things in life that bring me more pleasure than knowing I am the person someone might choose to reach out to when they needed help, or that they might take my hand when offered in a time of need. x
