Lust Lost

She mistook lust for love,
And so the die was cast,
The lust fit like a glove,
This lust was built to last.
But lust does not last well,
As she too soon would learn,
Whilst lust makes your heart swell,
But love the mind does yearn.
Love does not grow old,
As lust does ‘fore too long,
And soon things had grown cold,
Their ‘love’ not long, nor strong.

  2. A thought provoking poem, and so true. Its always difficult to tell where lust ends and love begins, something I never managed to figure out, until too late.
