Ice Cream Disaster

It’s the end of the world
Said a girl with a frown
As she looked at her ice cream cone
SPLAT
Upside down.
The ice cream was gritty,
The cone was a mess,
She was terribly sad,
She loved ice cream the best;
It was better than chocolates
Or biscuits or sweets,
Ice cream was truly
Her favourite treat.
Her dad saw her sad face,
The tears in her eyes
And then with a flourish
He shouted
SURPRISE!
And produced a new ice cream,
(It was not upside down)
And in moments a smile
Had replaced the girl’s frown.
