Angry Love – a mother’s view of anorexia

You hear anger,
But my words are built on love.
Said too fast,
Too loud;
Fuelled by anger,
Frustration,
Sadness.
Why won’t you eat?
Why can’t I make you eat?
WHY?
I’ve lost track of who I’m angry at…
You, for starving?
Me for watching you starve?
I do not know.
But know this;
Whilst plates may fly,
And tempers may fray,
I love you,
Unconditionally
(But sometimes angrily)
Every
Single
Day.
