Animal Lottery

If I could be anything,
What would I be?
A giant blue whale
Surrounded by sea?
An agile antelope,
Running so fast
Or a slow moving cow
Who chews all day on grass.
I might be an eagle
Up high in the air,
Or a flea, who’s so tiny
You don’t know I’m there.
The eight legs of spiders
Sound like quite good fun,
Or I could be a worm,
Who has not even one.
I could be a fish,
A fish has no legs too,
But the downside of fish life
Is you drink what you poo…
If I could be anything,
What would I be?
Do you know, on reflection,
I’d most like to be me.

    Sweet…
A simple enough poem for children
    With a message so deep
    And vital for all ages
