The Showman

Blinded by his brilliance,
She forgot her point of view,
She absorbed his conversation
And exchanged her point of view
With one, that just an hour ago
Would have struck her as absurd.
But back then she hadn’t seen this man,
And she hadn’t heard his words.
He seemed so well acquainted
With the science and the facts,
That she didn’t stop to think
If she should take a different tack.
Instead she let him lead her
And dictate opinions new
Which bore almost no resemblance
To her former point of view.
