Bright Brollies

Up and down
In London Town,
Walk commuters
Dressed in brown,
And muted shades
Of black and grey,
Shuffling to begin their day.

They look so dull,
And act so down,
Jaded commuters,
Dressed in brown.
Until the rain comes
Beating down,
Then it’s goodbye
To the sea of brown.

Each man and woman
Finds a brolly,
Coloured brightly like a lolly,
And the dark and dismal day
No longer feels
So wet and grey;
It’s full of colour,
Full of light,
Provided by these brollies, bright.
