If I could choose a grandpa,
(What a funny thing to do)
There isn’t one that I could choose,
Who would compare to you.
You say you’re old but really,
You’re still very young at heart,
Whenever there’s fun to be had,
You’re there to play your part.
You’ve a wicked sense of humour,
And an endless sense of fun.
From theme park rides to ice skates,
There is nothing you’ve not done.
You’re very kind and caring,
And you make me feel strong.
When I’ve got your backing,
Then I know things won’t go wrong.
We have good times together,
Now I share you with the rest,
And both the girls and Tom agree
You are the very best.
[today’s poem marks my wonderful Grandpa’s 88th birthday]
