A Problem Shared

She needed help,
But she knew not who to ask,
How to ask,
Whether to ask…
Would she be dismissed,
Judged as incomplete,
A failure?
And so she remained mute,
For days,
Then weeks,
Then months.
Until one day,
The words tumbled forth,
Unrehearsed and jumbled.
Nervously, she raised her gaze
To meet her confidante’s.
She saw no judgement,
Only care,
And all at once,
She felt a little less alone.
