Poetry Prompt 57 – Happy Sad

write a poem which explores how it feels to put a brave face on things

Today’s prompt is to write a poem which explores how it feels to put a brave face on things

You might like to consider:

  • Why do we pretend to be happy when we’re sad?
  • Does it help us to feel happier if we pretend to be?
  • What would happen if we stopped pretending?
  • How does it feel to harbour secret, sad, feelings?

Happy reading, happy writing -and if you do write, don’t forget to post your poem (in full or as a link) in the comments below so we can all enjoy it.

Thankyou for this prompt. I have been having difficulty bringing enough thoughts together to write, until now. https://avulnerablespace.wordpress.com/2014/06/27/happy-sad/
