Poetry Prompt 43 – Pyramid

write a poem which forms a pyramid on the pageToday’s prompt is to write a poem which forms a pyramid on the page.  It can have as many or as few lines as you like.

You might like to consider:

  • How long should your poem be?
  • Should you adhere to a strictly increasing number of words or syllables per line or write more freely governed by the appearance on the page?
  • Could the topic of your poem be relevant to its pyramid appearance?
  • Should you consider a double pyramid or other shape?

Happy reading, happy writing -and if you do write, don’t forget to post your poem (in full or as a link) in the comments below so we can all enjoy it.

Made my pyramids a little bigger… And had to re-write since I didn’t see the inverted pyramid-part of the prompt until I had the top halves ready, but I hope it comes across anyway. http://ccchampagne.wordpress.com/2014/06/12/a-life-pyramid/
