The Colour Purple

It was strangely beautiful,
The way the middle,
Almost black,
Faded to a lighter purple
By degrees.
Lines of red,
Green
And blue
Ran through,
But purple dominated.
A beautiful colour.
It made her think of chocolate,
Smooth and creamy,
Luxurious in its shiny purple wrappers.
It made her think of royalty,
Adorned with diamonds,
Kept warm in purple cloaks.
It made her think of knuckles,
Swollen, broken, purple,
A perfect match,
For her ugly,
Beautiful,
Broken
Face.

  2. Wow, this starts with such beautiful word on the color purple. Your ending pack a wallop. Raw and moving. Like this very much. A great prompt and poem.
