Propaganda in their pockets,
And horror in their hearts,
Instantly they realised that
This is the way war starts.
A harmless little flyer,
And a chance to speak your mind,
Can become a moment when
The blind will lead the blind.
Taking leaflets from their pockets,
They burned them in a fire,
So they couldn’t warp the minds
They were intended to inspire.
Today’s prompt is to write a poem which is twelve lines long.
Thought provoking. And very good use of the poem length!

I wish people would sometimes realize the best thing they could do would be to burn their manifests… *sigh* Lovely write!

Thanks CC – indeed! As you can tell, I’m not a big fan of politics. I would have loved to have been a politician were it not for the politics (if you know what I mean?!)

I have certainly got faster and more accepting that some days I’ll write poems I like and some days I won’t! I only really allow myself ten minutes as we have a big project on in the garden at the moment so it’s just as long as it takes Ellie to fall asleep then it’s time to get my wellies on 🙂
