Poetry Prompt 23 – One Word Title

write a poem which has a one word title and that word is repeated at least twice

Today’s prompt is to write a poem which has a one word title and that word is repeated at least twice.

You might like to consider:

  • What would be the best word to use? A name, a place, an exclamation etc
  • How can you use the repetition of the word to add meaning to your poem?
  • When repeated should the word have the same meaning as in the title or should you use a word with multiple meanings?
  • Where in your poem should you repeat the title word – will the positioning of your repetition affect the mood or meaning of your poem?

Happy reading, happy writing -and if you do write, don’t forget to post your poem (in full or as a link) in the comments below so we can all enjoy it.
