A Fond Farewell

I wave farewell,
With sinking heart.
We spend far too much time apart.
Our time together goes too fast,
Though in my mind, the memories last.
When we’re apart
I think of you,
And all the funny things you do.
And all the things
That you would say,
If you hadn’t gone away.
Come back soon,
Dear friend of mine.
When you’re not here,
For you, I pine.

A fond farewell - a poem by Pooky

It’s been fun to find some other daily poets. I wonder how many will continue beyond April – how often were you writing before?

There was a time when I wrote daily without thinking. But prior to NaPoWriMo I had only written about 10 poems in as many years (compared to 200+ in the 10 years before that) so it does feel good to be writing again.

Oh wow – I assumed you’d been writing regularly for eons. I’ve been really enjoying your poems

Well yes and no. I wrote regularly for about ten years and then stopped for about ten. Poetry got me through my teenage angst! 😉 – Thanks Pooky!
