Lovely message.
Just a thought about the ‘share and care’ – it might be even more effective if the repetition is restructured to show more clearly that it is intentional, with some form of reference back … or else replacements could be found?

I wondered about that too. If I have the mental capacity at some point I will revisit it! Perhaps I’ll edit it properly when I write my book. Ha.

This really touched me today. My friend’s husband has just passed away. She’s thousands of miles away and we’ve been in touch daily by email. It’s hard to know what to say so I agonise over every message, but your poem has inspired me. She needs to know I’m thinking of her.

I’m so sorry to hear about this – I agree wholeheartedly that she needs to know you’re thinking of her. SO often in these situations people don’t know what to say so they end up saying nothing but if we were in her shoes I’m sure we’d prefer any form of contact even if it was clumsy and awkward and stilted at first? xxxx

Agreed. I found it helpful when people sympathized when my parents died. It didn’t matter what they said. I just appreciated that they said something.
