Happy Birthday Lyra

Four fast years have passed now
Since we met for the first time,
Since our eyes first locked together
Whilst I held your hands in mine.
When I was expecting you,
I really couldn’t wait,
“Hurry up and come on out
And don’t you dare be late!”
Came my mantra day and night
Until at last you came;
Five days early, very fast,
You clearly felt the same…
Eager to meet Mum and Dad
You didn’t hang about,
All I needed was a wee
But Lyra popped right out.
A toilet birth befitted you,
You’ve never done things straight.
You keep us guessing every day
Life with you’s just great.
So happy birthday Lyra Rose,
Four-years-old today.
Four years of love and happiness
And life the Lyra way.

Thanks Tricia – I just can’t believe how fast four years have gone by. People always talked about time zooming past once you have kids but I had no idea it would go quite this quickly! It’s been the most difficult, interesting and wonderful journey so far and each year has been more fun than the last… x
