Please always know
That you are loved,
No matter what you do.
And know we love you,
…always have,
Just for being you.
Our love for you
Does not depend
On how you act or look.
Clever or beautiful,
We don’t care,
Not important in our book.
Before we even met you,
We loved you more
Than we knew how.
Our love for you
Surprised us;
It surprises even now.
And with each day
That passes,
We love you even more,
As you learn how
To be yourselves,
Now you’re approaching four.
We’ll love you
Unconditionally,
Each and every day.
Not just now,
Forever.
Even when you’re old and grey.

I got this one – but WordPress keeps telling me connection lost today although I’m in wifi. It’s conspiring against us!

That’s right, accept the test comment, WordPress. 🙂
This is a gem of a poem. One for your girls to treasure as they grow older.

I’m not sure it really comes across here and I’m sure it’s something I’ll revisit. But I’m desperate for my girls to be happy above all else. They’re only three but with two parents who went to Oxford the bar seems set high – but I really don’t care if they’re academic or amazing at baseball or born linguists, I just want them to be happy in their own skin.

🙂 I think we share these sentiments – I think that’s one of the things that drew us together isn’t it. I hope our girls always understand this.
